Myth 1: The car can't be scratched by anything. Wrong. Ceramic coating protects the paint from the very fine swirl marks caused by improper washing. You use brush car washes: Automatic brush washes are the death blow for any paint. If you don't plan to hand wash with the right shampoos, the brushes will destroy the ceramic very quickly.
You leave the car unwashed for months: The coating makes washing easier, but it doesn't wash the car by itself. If you let bird droppings and tree sap bake in the sun for weeks, the acids will eat through even the ceramic.
